Cheer Down!


The lilac buds have appeared in my yard.  I have several bushes around the house that will sport blue, purple and white blooms by May.  The thought of lilac scent gracing the breeze as the days grow longer always boosts my spirits.  That enthusiasm never fails to be translated into the tone of my voice.

So, it was with an optimistic tone that I spoke to a friend of mine a few days ago.  She was pouring over her tax forms.  She had not yet anticipated the real coming of spring.  Shortly after I hung up the phone, I received an email from her with the following:

I hope the lilacs start blooming in her yard early……..
